Coventry City Ladies 5 - 0 Stoke City
Cup 25/3/06

Team formation for Stoke game on 25th March 2006

In the changing room we were full of confidence. During the warm up we worked hard.

We started the game with determination; we battled hard but were patient. Our patients paid off when Rheo slotted the 1st goal in the back of the net. Stoke kept on the pressure but we kept pushing with lots of support from the sideline scoring another by Soumeya.

Half time Coventry City Ladies 2 - 0 Stoke City

After the team talk we went out determined to keep a clean sheet and to score more goals. The attacking force of Soumeya and Abby kept battling with the Stokes defence. Stoke could only managing to clear to our midfield that played the ball back in. Soumeya scored another 2 goals for her efforts and Abby managed to put her name on the score sheet after meeting a superb cross from Fern.

Thanks to all the support on the sideline from the U14’s and U16’s players and parents, Nikki Webb, Ian Weaving and Neil Wilson.

Leicester City 1 - 2 Coventry City Ladies
Cup 14/1/06

Team formation for Leicester game on 14th January 2006

Out of the last 5 games Richard and Mick have told us to make sure the opposition doesn’t score first and they always have. We came to Leicester who are clearly the best side in the league filling the first place.

Leicester took kick off and attacked the Coventry side straight away. Coventry worked hard and settled down playing some good football. The two teams played end to end but Coventry were the first to capitalise with a well took goal by Rheo.

Then the Leicester team came straight back at Coventry and managed to get enough space to take a lob shot at goal and score. There was nothing Coventry could do but get the ball out of the back of the net and launch another attack.

We started the second half well both sides battling hard. Rachel took a corner to see it cleared by Leicester but only as far as Emma who launched it straight back in the box. The goalkeeper punched it out as far as Abby who shot and scored.

Leicester kept battling and had a couple of breaks which resulted into shots at goal where Sophia kept them out taking a few knocks along the way.

Well done to all the players especially Sofia she was a hero.
