Coventry City Ladies Vs Stoke City
4/11/06

After a small break Coventry City u10s were back in action against a very good Stoke side. Welcoming four new faces Harley, Devon, Sophie and Jess (otherwise known as Salty) City for the first time in the season had the option of trying new things out.

The first third saw both teams settle quickly into some good attacking play. It was Stoke though who took the lead with a fantastic finish deep in to the end of the third.

Some changes were made at the end of the third allowing the debutants to take to the field. They didn’t disappoint and continued to pile on the pressure as well as keeping the Stoke forwards at bay. Some great link up play from Harley and Salty finally saw Ebony equalize with a cool finish.

With both teams equally matched it was hard to see if anyone would score again. However one team, did, and with 10 minutes left Sarah’s determination resulted in the ball being cut back for Harley, who finished emphatically first time.

A fantastic performance from both sides!

Hereford Vs Coventry City Ladies
14/10/06

A game away to Hereford saw Coventry City U10s have their best game of the season. After witnessing some great performances previous to today's game, it was evident that such a great performance was not far away.

Coventry continued their good form and ended up scoring 12, with both Ebony and Lydia grabbing just the 5 and Sarah a respectable 2.

Credit to Hereford as they did continue to work hard as a team.

But Well Done girls!

Birmingham City Vs Coventry City Ladies
30/9/06

Away to The Blues the game started a bit scrappy. Largely down to the pitch it took 10 minutes for both teams to settle down. Coventry soon found their feet and after some good link up play from Ebony and Lydia City went ahead with a great finish from Ebony. Coventry pushed on and could have added a second with Sarah shooting just wide from a corner.

The 2nd third saw a spell of loss in concentration by the City girls. City had to step up a gear. Just before the end of the third they did and Ebony added a second.

The final third saw Coventry gain momentum and totally dominate. Blues started to tire and City took full advantage launching attack after attack. A goal was inevitable after some great forward play and determination from the girls. Unfortunately it never came with shots either going wide or being saved by the Blues keeper.

Yet another fantastic performance from the City girls. Considering the results from the last few games the spirit is still high within the team, and if performances continue, we will get our rewards!

Wolverhampton Wands Vs Coventry City Ladies
16/9/06

Today saw Coventry City u10’s first league game of the season, away to Wolves. The game which consisted of 3 twenty minute thirds started brightly with early chances for both sides. City soon settled into some good attacking football and at the end of the first twenty minutes looked the better side.

This continued after the break. Some good work from Sarah in the middle saw Ebony strike just wide. A few minutes later Lydia also had a chance which again was pushed behind the post.

City continued to look the better side and were unlucky not to score when a free kick from charlotte flew just passed the post.

The last third saw Wolves gain some momentum. Some good work from both Annabelle and Daniella in goal kept Wolves at bay.

With 10 minutes left Coventry scored. A long throw in from Annabelle landed at Lydias feet whose shot found its way to Ebony, resulting in the well deserved goal. This spurred city on and they were unlucky not to get another as both Jess and Sophie went close.

From a Coventry point of view many positives were displayed.

Coventry City Ladies Vs Rushden and Diamonds
Friendly 9/9/06

Coventry City U10's made a promising start to their first game of the season. A friendly against a well organised Rushden and Diamonds allowed the team to play together for the first time.

After a patchy 20 minutes, the girls soon settled down in to confident attacking play. City saw efforts fly just wide of the post and saved by the opposing keeper.

As a result of such attacking play Rushden were able to push forward and make a few chances of their own. City maintained a steady defence and some fantastic saves from Daniella.

Overall City did themselves proud, displaying a great hard-working performance against a good team. This will hopefully set them up for the first game of the league next week.
