Player Well Being

Thanks to our friend Andi Drake at Coventry University, he has pulled together a host of useful information and data for our players and parents who have injury concerns. There's some really useful references for Osgood-Schlatter Disease, that a number of our very active younger players suffer from. This repetitive injury is very often mis-diagnosed and recovery advice is very mixed, from 'stop playing' to 'just carry on'! Very often, under the supervision of a good experienced physiotherapist, players can continue to play adopting an 'active rest' principle.

The club has a physio in attendance at evert training session should any player have any concerns. You're welcome to go and see him. Always see an experienced physio and get a second opinion if you're in any doubt!

Player welfare is an essential part of sports development, nutrition, fitness as well as skill and endurance make up the qualities of a great player...read and enjoy and if anyone has anything they'd like to add to the new 'Well Being' page, send it into the healthy web master by clicking here!
