CRISSY Torkildsen has left Coventry City Ladies to join former club Birmingham City Ladies in the Women's Super League.

The skilful midfielder signed for the Sky Blues in the summer of 2010 and played an integral part in guiding the side to their second successive promotion to the Premier League National Division.

Despite a series of bright performances last season, Torkildsen has struggled to contain a permanent starting slot in the starting 11 and has opted to join Super League outfit Birmingham, who finished runners up spot last season.

"Crissy was a very big part of our squad and team and helped us gain promotion to the FA Premier League National Division last season," said team boss Paul Cudby.

"Unfortunately due to work commitments, and with the good start we had to the season, opportunities had been limited for her this season.

"Everyone at the club is delighted for her and we all wish her every success at Birmingham City Ladies."
