Coventry City Girls 6 - 0 Stratford Town
League 29/9/07

Coventry started the game with out Lauren who was unavailable, but other wise was at full strength even if Sophie had been to a sleep over and admitted not getting to sleep till 3 in the morning. Coventry started the brighter and soon scored the opening goal with a lovely move from the left and a ball played in to Beth who slotted it away.

When the girls thought about it they played lovely football splitting Stratford open time after time. Eryn and Beth caused problems though out the game up front and Sophie and Tia (love the socks) used the wings really well. The middle field pairing of Demi and Emma worked hard supported by the defence of Lauren Biannca Kyra and Charlie.

Half time: Coventry City Girls 4 - 0 Stratford Town

All the subs where on at half time so Tiffany, Emma, Lucy and Dave all had a good run out. Coventry struggled 2nd half and did not play as well as they could but still the goals kept coming with Eryn and Tia adding to Beths 4.

Girl of the match was Beth.

Redditch United 0 - 8 Coventry City Girls
League 22/9/07

Redditch seemed to be the venue for a lot of teams from Cov today with our U13s and Coundon Courts U13s and ourselves all playing at Abbey Stadium today.

The girls where really up for it today, straight from the off the girls started to play football the passing was crisp and accurate and at times the finishing was clinical. The midfield of Tia, Sophie, Emma and Demi where really working hard and the cross’s from the wide player was great. Upfront Beth and Eryn ran the Redditch back 4 ragged and when Kingy came on she scored her first goal for the club. At the back Kyra, Loz, Charlie and Biancca had little to do but when called on they coped well. Dave and Lucy also coped when they came on. Chloe had a little bit more to do this week but not much.

Scorers: Beth 3, Tia 2, Erin, Emma K, Sophie.

This team is still learning but are playing good football. Role on next weekend against Stratford Girl of the match Tia

Coventry City Girls 17 - 0 Marston Green Girls
League 15/9/07

Well today was about Goals Goals and even more goals and then a few extra thrown in for good measure. Coventry started the 2nd game of the season with a full squad and with the sun beating down they started off to a flyer. The goals soon started to fly in and this is the way it went for the rest of the game. Coventry played some lovely football at times but there is even more to come from them.

Scorers: Beth 3, Sophie 6, Charlie 1, Eryn 4, Tia 3.

Girl of the match Sohpie

Coventry City Girls 3 - 3 Leafield Athletic
League 8/9/07

Well the season is under away and the under 12s started with a game against Leafield. With 8 new players in the team it was always going to take time for al of them, to find their feet. Coventry started well, with Tia a constant threat down the right wing delivering some lovely balls into the box. Against the run of play Leafield broke away and scored. The defence was a called in to action a lot today but dealt with most that was thrown at them with Chloe having an outstanding game. Leafield scored again just before half time.

Half time: Coventry City Ladies 0 - 2 Leafield Athletic

The second half was a great battling performance with Tia grabbing a goal back. Leafiled then scored again and with 10 mins left the girls worked their collective socks off to pull the game level with Emma and Beth getting the goals.

A good game of football. Parents player of the match: Chloe.

Coventry City Girls 0 - 17 WBA
Friendly 18/8/07

As the season draws near the time for pre season friendly’s is upon us. With a very new look under 12s team from last season we entertained WBA. With six players making their first start for the team, this was always going to be an interesting game and so it provided to be.

From the off WBA looked a very strong team and soon started to put the Coventry defence under pressure. The whole team was being pulled out of shape and the goals soon started to flow. With a lot of the girls playing in new positions it was always going to take time for them to gel. One of the plus’s I can take out of the game was that the girls never gave up or allowed their heads to drop. I have the makings of a good side it’s just going to take a little for them to gel.
