Agreement between Coventry City Ladies Football Club and the Parents or
Guardians of Junior Section Players
The Club asks that Parents or Guardians of the Junior Section Players make every effort to ensure:
- Players attend every training session or inform the Team Manager of any absence in advance. Coaches
prepare session plans prior to Training and these can be severely disrupted if players are absent
without warning.
- Players arrive punctually at the stated venues prior to matches.
- Match Fees, Training Fees and Subscriptions are paid promptly and in full.
- Details of any illness or injury that may preclude a Player from participating in games of football
or training sessions must be advised to the Team Manager at the earliest opportunity.
- Suspicions of possible "over-use" injuries (see below) are reported to the Team Manager or
Coaching Staff.
- Suitable insurance cover is in force if offering to transport other players to away matches.
- Somebody volunteers to launder the kit on a rota basis, if the kit is not retained by the individual
players for laundering purposes following each match.
- While the Club advocates the participation of Parents or Guardians in the form of active
encouragement and the provision of a safe and happy environment in which to play football, they
should be aware of the following:
- Foul, abusive, derogatory or insulting language or behaviour must never be used or displayed and
will not be tolerated by the Club.
- The decisions of Match Officials must not be questioned.
Parents must refrain from coaching from the touchline during a game or training sessions. It can be
extremely distressing and confusing for a player when different and varying advice is shouted.
- Parents must refrain from interfering in Team Managers’ or Coaches’ pre-match, half time or full
time team talks.
- Whilst it is natural for Parents or Guardians to believe their daughter is the Team's most important
asset, any decisions made by the Team Managers regarding selection or training techniques should be
accepted. A formal complaints procedure (see below) is in existence, to air any grievances that can
not be resolved with the Team Manager.
- Where possible, Team Managers will select what they consider to be the strongest team from each
Squad for each competitive game. However, where possible, opportunities will be provided to all
players.
- Avoid detrimental malicious gossiping about players or Club Officials.
- Please enjoy watching your daughter playing football. Encourage and support her team and its
management in a positive and sporting manner.
- An "over-use" injury is one that develops gradually and cannot be connected to one
specific incident. The areas of the body most susceptible are the back, knees, shins, ankles and
heels. If you suspect this type of injury please highlight the problem to the Coaching Staff
immediately. Coaches & Team Managers will be looking for indications of over-use problems.
If a Parent or Guardian considers they have a complaint against any Club Official, details of the
complaint should be put in writing and forwarded to the Club Vice Chairperson within fourteen days of the
event. If the complaint arises from of a series of issues, the written complaint should be forwarded as soon
as possible.
